Parrs Wood comes out of special measures

I was pleased to learn that Parrs Wood High School in East Didsbury has now been removed from special measures after the latest inspection of the school by Ofsted.

All the staff and pupils at the school should be congratulated on their good work in this regard, and hopefully can now build on this progress further.

I visited the school today to witness first hand the great work done by the Aimhigher Associate scheme with the sixth form. It is encouraging to see the students working hard and getting the commitment and help they need from staff. Under Liberal Democrat proposals for a Pupil Premium, Parrs Wood would get around £962,000 extra to spend on giving their students the help they need to excel.

I blogged about the Pupil Premium a few weeks ago here.
