Bangladesh

As I write this I am about to start travelling to Bangladesh for a 10 day trip to promote the great work done by Volunteering Services Overseas (VSO), doing voluntary work and advocating the human rights of Bangladeshi workers, such as working to try to improve workers rights; to grant workers a voice in the workplace; but also to tackle gender equality issues to help make it unlawful for employers to discriminate between men and women in their pay and conditions.

Whilst in Bangladesh I will be kept busy doing a whole range of things, such as volunteering at a shrimp farm, meeting Government officials, helping out at a youth club and meeting farmers to discuss the effects of climate change. I am looking forward to seeing what improvements that I can make to help improve the situation in Bangladesh.
