No bonus for Network Rail chief

Another day, another bonus!

I know Network Rail boss Sir David Higgins has made some improvements to Network Rail- but why does that mean he should get a bonus of 60% of his salary?

There are thousands of workers who do a good job, day in day out. Where are their bonuses? If he is in line for a £336,000 bonus, he must have a basic pay of £560,000.

When people are losing their jobs, that is more than enough remuneration, I would argue.

I am glad that the minister, Justine Greening is voting against the rise.

Unfortunately, she inherited rules drawn up by the last Labour Government. They allowed for bonuses to be paid, never voted against a bonus or wrote to Network Rail flagging up their concerns. It is a bit rich for them to ask for action now.”
