As the Christmas shop really kicks in this weekend, I wanted to highlight a scheme that is running in Chorlton until end of business on Sunday (9th December) .
‘TAG! Pass It On!’ is a Chorlton has a community loyalty scheme that rewards people for shopping with local, independent retailers. The results are fantastic news for community shoppers and traders alike. Now, TAG! has teamed up with Metrolink to bring these discounts to even more local shoppers!
There are over 60 of participating TAG! retailers (you can find a list here), from Busy Bee Toy Shop and Monkey Puzzle Toys to Bittersweet and Coffee N Chocolates.
All Metrolink customers showing a Metrolink ticket in these retailers can benefit from the same great discounts as TAG! cardholders.
After Sunday, great bargains are still open for TAG! card holders. Even better, for the first 300 TAG! cards newly bought as a result of this promotion, TAG! will donate the full purchase price of £5 to the Barlow Moor Community Association Toy campaign!
For me, this is a really innovative way of encouraging people to visit all the brilliant independent shops Chorlton has to offer. I think this partnership is great news for everyone in Chorlton, and I think it’s really important to show support for our fantastic independent traders in the local area. Back in February, I wrote to Chorlton Businesses encouraging them to take on an Apprentices. In July I was a judge for the Chorlton Beer Festival (you can read my blog entry on the subject here) and I’m delighted to be supporting this initiative, too.
So, the message is loud and clear. Get your Christmas shopping done this weekend and get some great deals in the process! Remember, it’s all for the benefit of your local community.
